Immediate Deployment at Any Location

Across the US, Bowen Engineering Corporation has been the self-performing construction contractor of choice for the energy and industrial sector since 1967.

The main connectivity challenge Bowen has faced time and again is searching for network providers for each new site. This is frequently a time-consuming process—each site could be located within to the service area of a different provider, and setup lead time is often an unknown factor.

What we need is an instantly deployable network available to our teams when first boots arrive on the ground.

– Paul Bravard, Network and Systems Administrator, Bowen Engineering Corporation.

For Bowen, it was important to instantly deploy a network with access to the Internet and VPN as soon as their team arrives on site. They needed to do so with simplicity in mind whether they’re dealing with the design, migration or the deployment.

Depending on the site’s situation, Bowen could deploy MAX 700, MAX HD2, MAX HD4, or the MAX On-The-Go. The MAX series provides flexibility, allowing Bowen to implement whichever device is available and appropriate for each given site. For example, HD2- and HD4-series devices allow for the use of top-up SIM cards from multiple providers for resilience, and the MAX 700 can be used to mix up the cellular USB modems with multiple DSL lines for failover, or to avoid data overages. Or, Bowen could acquire up to 4 USB cellular modems and slot them all into the MAX On-The-Go’s USB ports for plug-and-play simplicity.

With Peplink’s solution in place, Bowen now enjoys highly available connectivity that’s easy to install and maintain. They’ve significantly minimized the impact on construction team start, setup, and operational time. Their devices are an important factor in providing what their team needs to reduce delays, make accurate forecasts and reliable decisions, and lower overall risks.

Bowen plans to take advantage of Peplink’s features to expand their infrastructure and accommodate for instant collaboration via handheld devices. Project data, emails, plans, and blueprints can be safely and securely transmitted between personnel, sites, and headquarters. Most importantly, they will be able to do this without incurring the unnecessary costs of data plans for each individual device.

Paul Bravard, Network and Systems Administrator

“Our people have the data they need to reduce delays, meet work requirements, know project status, lower risk, and make decisions based on current and reliable data.”
